When the camcorder is connected to the optional DVDirect Express (VRD-P1) DVD writer via a USB cable, a single press of the One Touch Disk button is all it takes to burn video footage directly onto a DVD - without using a PC. This model is also equipped with a down-conversion function that enables DVD burning to SD picture quality. Users can playback a DVD they just created simply by pressing the Play button on the DVDirect Express when the camcorder is connected.

Consumers looking to take their photography a step further and begin shooting with an SLR will find the transition easier than ever with Canon's new Rebel XS digital SLR camera. From the parent photographing a little league game, to the tourist shooting a wondrous new city, the Canon Rebel XS camera makes photography easy for everyone. Canon has also introduced the latest model in the EX series of Speedlite flashes: the Canon Speedlite 430EX II.
Ideal for a wide range of photographers from first-time digital SLR users to veteran photo enthusiasts, the new Canon EOS Rebel XS camera was designed to embody what customers have come to expect from the EOS Rebel series – a fast, non-intimidating, lightweight, easy-to-use camera that produces excellent images and starts emerging photographers off on the right foot. Immediately, photographers will take notice of the camera's Optical Image Stabilized kit lens for crisp focus, compensating for camera shake from unsteady hands or a moving vehicle. A first in Canon's EOS line-up, the Rebel XS camera's continuous JPEG burst rate allows users to continuously shoot a scene until the memory card is at capacity. This will be particularly helpful for new photographers looking to capture that perfect image of a moving subject.
The Live View function allows users to frame and shoot images in real time via the camera's 2.5 inch LCD screen, a great feature for users accustomed to framing shots via LCD monitors on point-and-shoot digital cameras. The Camera's Auto Lighting Optimizer detects dark areas of an image and automatically adjusts brightness and contrast to ensure optimal image results. The Canon Rebel XS allows greater ease of use through large control buttons and easy-to-see operating panel indications such as ISO settings visible through the viewfinder and Canon Speedlite controls through the camera LCD menu.
The Rebel XS incorporates an APS-C size (22.2 x 14.8 mm) CMOS sensor with 10.1 million pixel images and Canon's exclusive high-performance DIGIC III image processor to help deliver high levels of imaging performance and responsiveness. It also has Canon's exclusive EOS Integrated Cleaning System, which features both hardware and software-based dust removal technology. Additionally, weighing less than 1 lb./450 grams, this camera is the lightest body in the EOS digital series camera lineup.
The EOS Rebel XS camera is compatible with Canon's extensive lineup of more than 60 EF and EF-S lenses, including the Image Stabilizer-equipped EF-S18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS, which is included in the camera's standard zoom lens kit package. Canon Speedlite 430EX II
The new Canon Speedlite 430EX II, which succeeds the 430EX, realizes an approximately 20 percent reduction in recycling time compared with its predecessor. Like the 580EX II, the 430EX II allows users to control flash functions and input settings using the camera's LCD monitorii, and also offers a quick-lock attachment system and a metal mounting foot for improved contact reliability and durability. The new Canon Speedlite 430EX II will carry an estimated retail price of $329.99.

Expected to ship in August 2008 the Canon Rebel XS camera is available in a zoom lens kit version, which includes the EF-S18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS zoom lens, a rechargeable battery pack and charger, USB and video cables, a neckstrap, an EOS Solutions Disk CD, and a 1-year Canon U.S.A., Inc. limited warranty. The new camera's estimated retail price is $699.99.

Imaging resolution science: a closer look
Throughout the series, Galt and Thorpe challenge the simplistic and inaccurate assumption that digital camera resolution is “all about the camera output pixels.” Instead, they help serious motion picture creators to understand the difference between optical sampling from camera imagers (where resolution is totally determined) and the camera digital sampling.
They explore in depth what is meant by Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) and the compounding effect of lens MTF, camera MTF, and the MTF of subsequent production system elements.
Their discussion emphasizes that the relationship between the lens-camera MTF profile and associated residual aliasing – in both the horizontal and vertical domains – constitutes the only rational metric on imaging resolution. These two criteria apply to all 2/3-inch three-imager and to 35mm single-imager digital cameras. Nyquist theory, optical prefiltering and imager sampling lattice are explained in the context of camera design criteria that seek a pragmatic compromise between high MTF and minimum aliasing.
While camera manufacturers generally do not publish camera-specific information regarding lens-camera MTF and aliasing, various test charts are available to enable an objective assessment of both criteria. With these charts, fully demonstrated in the series, content developers can directly compare the performance between any two digital cameras regardless of image format size, number of imagers, or their optical sampling lattice.
Using the MTF metric, Galt and Thorpe conclude, digital movie makers now have better tools to help them gauge precisely what effect each step has on the production of the final image.
In addition to appearing on the Panavision website, the “Demystifying Digital Camera Specifications” series is being made available through various professional, trade and media Internet sites. Si eres conservador y practico la HVRZ7N es la mejor opción pues graba en Cinta alta definición y definición standard, DV HDV y DVCAM que son tecnologías super probadas-
La PMW EX1 es un caramelo apetitoso para los que gustan de estar a la vanguardia sin embargo no graba HDV ni DV ni DVCAM y necesitas un equipo de post con muchos terabytes de almacenamiento para estar tranquilo de que tu material esta guardado en algún lugar.
La Panny HVX200 se compara con la PMW EX1 aunque la tecnología de P2 es anterior al sistema de Sony y solo graba DV en cinta no HDV ni HD
Las 3 son excelentes (la calidad de todas se acerca a la de cámaras de mas de $100,000 Dolares)
Tu decisión dependerá de algunos factores que no tienen nada que ver con la calidad del video en si misma

En términos estrictos de calidad visual el sensor de ½ pulgada de la Sony PMW EX1 La convierten en la mejor cámara del momento y el sticker de Cine Alta tiene su cachet del hermano mayor por lo que puedes acabar cualquier discusión solo con eso, además la PMW-EX1 tiene literalmente el doble de resolucion que la HVX200, mayores tiempos de grabación, menores tiempos de bajada a la computadora , mejor sistema de archivos , lente superior y grabación verdadera de 1920 x 1080
La renta diaria de la HVx 200 es de $400 Dolares por dia La de la HVVRZ7 tambien las de la PMW EX1 es de $600

La PMW EX1 es un caramelo apetitoso para los que gustan de estar a la vanguardia sin embargo no graba HDV ni DV ni DVCAM y necesitas un equipo de post con muchos terabytes de almacenamiento para estar tranquilo de que tu material esta guardado en algún lugar.
La Panny HVX200 se compara con la PMW EX1 aunque la tecnología de P2 es anterior al sistema de Sony y solo graba DV en cinta no HDV ni HD
Las 3 son excelentes (la calidad de todas se acerca a la de cámaras de mas de $100,000 Dolares)
Tu decisión dependerá de algunos factores que no tienen nada que ver con la calidad del video en si misma

Aunque en Mexico la Panny tuvo un mejor comienzo actualmente Sony se ha recuperado y es mas buscada
Muchos prefieren no pasar por el proceso de HDV (mencionan la compresión) sin embargo para mi HDV es un formato excelente de alta calidad que seguirá siendo fuerte y el costo de cada cinta es de 3 dolares por hora sin comparación con ninguna otra tecnología
En términos estrictos de calidad visual el sensor de ½ pulgada de la Sony PMW EX1 La convierten en la mejor cámara del momento y el sticker de Cine Alta tiene su cachet del hermano mayor por lo que puedes acabar cualquier discusión solo con eso, además la PMW-EX1 tiene literalmente el doble de resolucion que la HVX200, mayores tiempos de grabación, menores tiempos de bajada a la computadora , mejor sistema de archivos , lente superior y grabación verdadera de 1920 x 1080
La renta diaria de la HVx 200 es de $400 Dolares por dia La de la HVVRZ7 tambien las de la PMW EX1 es de $600

Sony introduce actualmente un camcorder HDV™ profesional de nivel básico, montable al hombro, que pondrá los beneficios de producción HD al alcance de una gama más amplia de usuarios.
El modelo HVR-HD1000 admite los formatos HDV tanto como los DV de definición estándar.
En formato HDV, los usuarios pueden filmar aproximadamente 60 minutos de video HD en una cinta cassette de 6 mm.
El camcorder tiene un avanzado lente Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* con zoom óptico 10x para reducir la reflexión. La característica Super SteadyShot™ (óptica) de la unidad es un estabilizador de imagen que usa un método de lente óptico activo para evitar cualquier deterioro en la calidad de la imagen.
El camcorder HVR-HD1000U usa un sistema sensor Sony ClearVid™ CMOS de 1/2,9 pulg. (0,88 cm) con mayores niveles de resolución y sensibilidad.
Las funciones creadoras de foto del camcorder pueden producir datos fotográficos utilizables para diseñar carátulas de DVD, contenidos de sitios Web, noticias, álbumes fotográficos y otras aplicaciones.
Con la función “Smooth Slow Rec”, el usuario puede reproducir en cámara lenta después de captar imágenes cuatro veces más rápido que la frecuencia normal de campo (240 campos/s).
La función Super NightShot™ del nuevo modelo usa un emisor incorporado de luz infrarroja para grabar objetos en niveles de cero luz y permitir monitoreo y vigilancia de noche.
Un anillo de lente con varias funciones asignables está situado en la unidad del lente. Cualquiera de las funciones siguientes puede asignarse al anillo para facilitar los ajustes: enfoque (preconfigurado), zoom, brillo, obturador, cambio de autoexposición y equilibrio del blanco.
Otras características son: hasta 10 horas de operación cuando se usa una batería NP-F970 opcional; una gama de entradas/salidas digitales (HDMI, i.LINK®, USB, ranura para Memory Stick Duo™); micrófono estéreo externo suministrado (ECM-PS1), y menú multilingüe.
